Did you build your on website?

I started with a template, then added all kinds of extra touches using custom CSS and a few Squarespace plugins. Tweaking my site is definitely a favorite pastime. (I also love helping my clients build their beautiful sites on Squarespace.)

I know you love white space. Any tips on how to start including it in my photography?

I just love your emails. What email service do you use to make them so beautiful?

What camera do you shoot with? What is your favourite lens?

I’m currently shooting with the Nikon z8 and zf. I LOVE them both. My favorite lens is the Nikon 50mm z 1.8.

Are you the Kim Klassen that I used to see in all the painting magazines?

Yes. That is me. Before photography I used to design painting patterns, and licensed print art. ♡

What color is your black wall?

FAQ

Do I have to be a professional photographer to take this course?

Absolutely not. : ) Elevate is designed for anyone who wants to refine and elevate their photography.

What if I can't attend the LIVE sessions. Will there be a replay?

You will have access to all the content, including the replays for 24 months. The LIVE sessions will be scheduled over a variety of times to accommodate different time zones.

I'm not interested in elevating my style. I just wanna learn more about editing. Is this class for me?

You could skip the finding your style and shooting sections and jump in once the Lightroom weeks begin. But... I do encourage you to follow along with it all. Visual style isn't just for still and lifestyle photography. When you develop and nurture your style it finds its way into the frame and edits almost all of the time.

I've never used Lightroom. Can I take this class?

A basic understanding of Lightroom is required. We will not be covering Lightroom catalog basics, files, folder structure etc.

Will you teach me how to make and sell my own Lightroom presets?

This class is not about creating presets to sell. But I will show you how to effectively develop your own signature-style preset(s) to create a cohesive editing style.

Will you teach me how to edit from scratch or do I need to use presets?

I'm a strong believer in using presets as a starting point then adjusting to achieve just the right look. Students will receive five Essential presets to use as their starting point. Like primer, not paint.

Not to worry though, I will also teach you how to edit from scratch.
