A Favourite Kind of Sunday

Day 4 of 31 Days of Blogging

There's something special about Sundays at the Studio. Maybe it's because it's so quiet downtown.
There isn't a car in sight.

It feels like an invitation to slow down and faff around.

Today (yesterday by the time I hit publish on this) I changed up the gallery wall, faffed with all the peonies, and took lots of photos and films. (342 to be exact. I just checked. )

Made this video. (a timelapse, and a few slow-mos too).

Don’t you just love the way the lovely long white peonies sway?

And can we take another moment for my Studio 50 Hangen Rack?
I love using it to prop up my gallery prints and so much more.

Came home, and had a light lunch/supper. (AKA Lupper).

Went for a walk by the lake.
Got eaten alive by mosquitoes. (even with bug spray on).

Came home, and grumbled to John about the mosquito insanity.
Took a shower to wash off the bug spray. (gross)

Did a little writing on this post.

Ordered these slide sandals for my nieces’ wedding later this month. (this is a new brand to me. fingers crossed they fit).
And these, after seeing them on TikTok. (for my jeans that are bit big in the waist but good otherwise.) Who knew there was such a thing?? : )

We finished the day with an episode of Call the Midwife.

Quiet, calm, and (almost) perfect. Darn, you mosquitoes.
: )

I’ve been super into motion blur these days… (photos below)

The Steps

I set my Nikon timer to a 5-second delay.
Focused on the peony closest to the lens. Hit the shutter.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1
gives me just enough time to walk into the frame and faff with this or that as the Nikon clicks 3 shots.

In case you’re curious. My Nikon settings for the frame motion blur were:
f/7.1, 1/20, ISO 400
(Nikon z6ii, 50mm 1.8 z lens).

Yes I could use the snap bridge remote camera APP, or even my trigger remote.
But this is much quicker and saves a few extra steps.

And that’s a wrap for day 4 of 31 Blogging Days in July.

Thank you for stopping by. Feel free to say hello in the comments, and post a question or a thought.
I LOVE knowing you were here.

With love.
