ART OF THE MICRO FILM — STARTS AUGUST 25TH —
The Art of the Micro Film
Maybe you’ve been capturing small moments on your phone. Maybe you’ve simply watched, wondering where to begin. Either way, the art of the micro film is simple.
You don’t need fancy gear, or to call yourself a filmmaker. All you need is what you already have—and the desire to create a film you love.
When I started, it was just little motions.
A curtain shifting in the breeze. Light drifting across the cupboards. Small, quiet moments. The magic happened when I began weaving those micro moments together.
Suddenly, they stopped being snippets. They became a story.
Start with what you have: your phone, your camera, a handful of everyday moments, and a quiet story worth telling.
In this course, you’ll learn how to turn those fleeting moments into films you love.
☐ A simple method that works with any camera
☐ Guidance to capture genuine emotion
☐ A micro film that tells your story, beautifully
This is The Art of the Micro Film: a creative rhythm you can return to…again and again.

Not Every Story Needs to Shout
Since I returned to Instagram, I’ve been receiving the loveliest DM’s and emails.
I missed your calm presence.’
Your films are so refreshing and still.’
I’m so tired of trending reels.’
(Me too.)
This workshop was born from that craving: to film the moments that matter without adding more noise.
Nature. Favourite things on your table. A walk in the woods. Puppy ears flapping in the wind. A page lifting at the corner. Light moving slowly across the floor. Our days are full of ordinary-extraordinary moments.
If you’d like to make a slower paced film (15 to 30 seconds) that feels true to your rhythm, I’ll walk you through my story-first process: simple, clear, and rooted in real, not trending, moments.
We start small. One step at a time.
In the end, you’ll have something that feels meaningful. Made with intention.
What makes this simple?
There’s no shortage of YouTube tutorials out there, but many speak to a different kind of creator.
☐ They assume you’re filming with expensive gear and colour grading like a Hollywood editor.
☐ They move fast and expect you to keep up.
This workshop is built for a steady, doable pace and for creatives like you and me.
If you want to notice more and learn a filmmaking rhythm you can return to, you’ll be guided through a calm, story-first process. We begin with small snippets, then shape them from idea to a finished 15 to 30 second film.
Something you’ll feel proud to share with your people, beyond the feed.
Starts August 25

Making Films Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated
Starting something new can feel daunting. I spent years circling video because it seemed like too much- so many moving parts.
My default thoughts?
My life is kinda boring…besides I’m a still photographer.’
Turns out, that was the exact reason to try. The first time I let one of my stills move - even slightly - something clicked. Suddenly, a moment I’d normally capture in one frame… took on quiet life. I was hooked.
Making micro films helps me to slow down, notice, and share something calm but meaningful in a 'noisy' world.
In Just 2 Weeks
In this workshop, you’ll gather a handful of real-life clips, shape them into a slow-moving short, and learn how to edit in a way that feels clear and doable.
And by the end, you’ll have a finished 15–30 second film you’ll actually want to share.
Consider. Shoot. Shape. Share.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. The free version has everything you need for this course. I’ll show you exactly where to download it and how to get set up. No paid upgrades or extras required.
-
DaVinci Resolve is a pro-level editing tool, and while the things we’ll be doing in this class are simple and light (especially if you’re shooting 1080p), your computer still needs to meet the minimum system requirements.
The current version (DaVinci Resolve 20) runs best on newer machines.
If your computer is older, you might want to download version 18 (found on this page) — it’s still free and much less resource-heavy.
Before you enroll, please take a moment to check the system requirements for your setup:
It’s your responsibility to make sure your computer is ready - I won’t be able to troubleshoot hardware or compatibility issues once we start.
Thanks for understanding ♡

For a smooth, step-by-step experience, you’ll want a laptop or desktop.

Yes. I film most of my micro pieces on a Nikon, but every shooting technique I share works beautifully on a phone. Calm framing, steady shots, natural light—that’s what matters. Use whatever camera feels comfortable and is close at hand.
